We tried this product a few days ago in our house. It was a typical out-of-the-box preparation for brownie mix: Add eggs, butter, and optional nuts. They suggested alternative prep measures such as substituting egg whites for the eggs and low-fat Greek yogurt for the butter as a low-fat option. Cooking time was about 30 minutes (though that depends on your oven). When baked in an 8″ x 8″ pan it yields 16 brownies.
If you are comparing these with regular brownies and your goal is simply a desert product that is gluten-free then I give this one a thumbs-up. The texture and flavor were both surprisingly close to the homemade traditional brownie recipe that I make from scratch. If your goal is to try to find a healthier alternative to traditional brownies, in addition to eliminating gluten, then I’m afraid these are not for you. They use processed sugar at a whopping 23g per serving.
