Easy Homemade Coconut Butter: Creamy, delicious, incredibly nutritious. Done in less than 10 minutes!
All you need to make homemade coconut butter or manna (yes, they are the same thing) is shredded or flaked coconut, a food processor or high-speed blender, a spatula, and about 10 minutes. Since it’s made from dehydrated coconut meat, it contains all of the same nutrients that you benefit from when eating coconut.
To make about 1/2 cup, place 2 rounded cups of shredded or flaked coconut in a food processor or blender. Process coconut for approximately 2 minutes or until all of it is stuck to the sides of your appliance. Stop processor and scrape sides with a spatula to return coconut to the reach of the blade. Continue this process of processing and scraping until a smooth and liquidy texture is achieved. The time intervals will become shorter as demonstrated in the pictures below. If you feel your appliance is beginning to overheat, it will not harm the butter to stop and cool the processor before continuing. Once completed it can be stored in a jar at room temperature and will solidify to a texture consistent with store-bought coconut butter.
